Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of hairbynb.com and the services offered by NewsBeauty, LLC ("NewsBeauty," "we," or "us"). By booking an appointment, purchasing a product, or registering for a class, you agree to these terms.
1. Services
NewsBeauty, LLC provides non-regulated hair braiding services (exempt from Massachusetts cosmetology licensing under MGL Ch. 112 §87V), beauty supply retail, and professional makeup education classes, all delivered at 306 Main Street, Everett, MA 02149.
2. Appointments
All appointments require a non-refundable deposit of $50 paid at the time of booking. The deposit is applied toward your total service cost.
- Deposits are non-refundable. They secure your appointment slot and compensate for time reserved on your behalf.
- Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment. Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the deposit.
- Late arrivals of more than 15 minutes may result in rescheduling. Your deposit will be applied to the new appointment.
- No-shows forfeit the deposit in full. A new deposit is required to rebook.
- Service changes requested on the day of the appointment may affect pricing. You will be notified before any service change is made.
3. Client Preparation
To ensure the best results and protect your appointment slot, clients are expected to arrive:
- With hair freshly washed and detangled unless otherwise agreed in advance
- Hair should be completely dry before braiding services begin
- With adequate time blocked in your schedule — complex styles may take 6–10 hours or more
Arriving without completing preparation steps may result in additional charges or rescheduling at our discretion.
4. Payments
We accept the following payment methods: Cash, CashApp ($newsbeauty), Venmo (@newsbeauty), and Zelle (newsbeauty@gmail.com). We do not accept credit cards at this time. Final balances are due at the time of service. All sales are final unless a service error on our part is identified.
5. Makeup Classes
Classes are held Sundays, 12:30–3:00 PM. Class fee: $197. Non-refundable deposit to reserve: $50. Balance due on class day.
- Class registration requires a $50 non-refundable deposit.
- Full payment of $197 is required before or on the day of class.
- Cancellations more than 7 days before class date may be applied toward a future class date (one transfer permitted).
- Cancellations within 7 days forfeit the deposit and no transfer is permitted.
- The professional makeup kit and certificate of completion are included in the $197 class fee.
- NewsBeauty reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. Registered participants will receive at least 48 hours' notice and a full refund or transfer.
6. Beauty Supply Retail
All beauty supply sales are final. We do not accept returns on hair extensions, wigs, braiding hair, or opened beauty products for hygiene reasons. If you receive a defective or incorrect item, contact us within 3 business days of purchase at newsbeauty@gmail.com or (617) 710-3356.
7. Satisfaction & Service Issues
Your satisfaction matters. If you are dissatisfied with a service, please notify us within 48 hours of your appointment. We will review the concern and, where appropriate, offer a correction or credit at our discretion. Concerns raised after 48 hours or following external alterations to the style cannot be addressed.
8. Health & Safety
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service if we observe a scalp condition or skin issue that may be contraindicated for the requested service. This is done for the health and safety of both client and stylist. If refused, any deposit paid will be returned.
9. Photos & Content
We may photograph finished styles for use on our website, social media, or marketing materials. If you prefer your photo not be used, let us know before your appointment. Client photos are never tagged with personal information without your consent.
10. Limitation of Liability
NewsBeauty, LLC provides non-regulated hair braiding services in accordance with Massachusetts state law. We are not liable for reactions to hair products you bring to your appointment, allergic reactions to products not disclosed to our stylist in advance, or scalp conditions that were not disclosed before service. Our liability for any claim arising from services rendered is limited to the cost of that service.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved in the courts of Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
