Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our services, products, and how we work — all in one place.

Appointments & Booking
Yes, appointments are strongly recommended. We do accept walk-ins when available, but booking ahead ensures you get your preferred time slot and stylist. You can book online via our booking page or call us directly.
You can book through our booking page, call us directly, or send a DM on TikTok or Instagram @newsbeauty3. We respond to all booking requests within 24 hours.
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Same-day cancellations may result in a deposit forfeiture. We understand life happens — just reach out as soon as you know.
Braiding Services
Knotless braids typically take 4–8 hours depending on length, size, and braid count. Small knotless braids at waist length may take up to 10 hours. We recommend blocking off a full day for longer styles.
You can purchase hair directly from our supply store before your appointment, or bring your own. We carry X-pression, Ruwa, pre-stretched, and ombre options. We're happy to recommend the right pack count and color match ahead of time.
With proper care, knotless braids typically last 6–8 weeks. Smaller braids tend to last longer. We recommend refreshing edges at the 4-week mark to keep the style looking clean.
Yes — and you should. Scalp health matters more when your hair is in a protective style. We recommend washing every 2–3 weeks using a diluted shampoo or a braid spray, focusing on the scalp rather than the length. Avoid heavy conditioners on the braids themselves.
Beauty Supply & Products
We stock X-pression, Ruwa Braid, Easy Braid, and a full selection of pre-stretched and ombre braiding hair in all major colors. Call ahead to confirm availability of specific shades.
Absolutely. We carry a curated selection of sulfate-free shampoos, deep conditioners, leave-ins, and hair oils specifically suited for 4A, 4B, and 4C hair types. Our staff can help you build a regimen based on your hair's needs.
Yes, we offer professional discounts for licensed cosmetologists and braiders. Bring your license on your first visit to set up a professional account with ongoing pricing benefits.
Unopened products in original packaging may be returned within 14 days with a receipt. Hair extensions, wigs, and opened products are final sale for hygiene reasons. If a product is defective, contact us and we'll make it right.
Aftercare & Maintenance
Moisturize your scalp with a lightweight oil daily, sleep with a satin bonnet or on a satin pillowcase, and avoid heavy product buildup near the roots. We recommend washing every 2–3 weeks with a diluted shampoo to keep your scalp healthy throughout the style.
We recommend removing braids no later than 8 weeks to avoid excessive tangling and matting at the root. Leaving braids in longer than that can cause breakage and stress on your natural hair. Give your scalp a 1–2 week break between installs.
