Bold, chunky braids in the 15–25 count range. Install time is 3–5 hours. Statement-making and quicker to put in, but require a longer takedown process and can be heavier on the scalp. Starting at $150.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

Your prep directly affects how your braids look and how long they last. Arrive with:

• Freshly washed and deep-conditioned hair. Braiding over dirty hair traps buildup under the extensions and shortens the style's lifespan.
• Completely detangled hair. Knots and matting add hours to your appointment and compromise the tension of each braid section.
• Completely dry hair. Braiding wet or damp natural hair leads to mildew and odor under extensions. Air-dry completely or use a hooded dryer.
• A cleared schedule. Small and medium knotless braids are a full-day commitment. Plan for 6–10 hours. Bring snacks, headphones, and something to watch.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

We section, part, and braid each section individually. Depending on your hair texture and the size selected, we may use a moisturizing product on your natural hair before adding extensions to keep your roots flexible during installation. We'll discuss your preferred length, parting pattern, and whether you want a curved part around your hairline before we begin.

Expect some tenderness at the scalp — especially in the first 24–48 hours. This is normal. If you feel sharp pain or significant pulling during the installation itself, tell us immediately so we can adjust the tension.

How Long Do Knotless Braids Last?

Done right and maintained properly: 6–8 weeks for medium braids, up to 8–10 weeks for small braids. Jumbo braids typically reach the 4–6 week mark before they start to look too grown out to keep.

The biggest factors: how often you wash, whether you sleep on silk or satin, and how diligently you oil your scalp. A client who washes and oiled weekly and sleeps on a satin bonnet every night will consistently get more weeks out of their style than one who doesn't.

Knotless Braid Aftercare Essentials

• Oil your scalp 2–3× per week. Focus on the parts. We recommend jojoba, castor, or our preferred braiding oil from the beauty supply.
• Sleep on satin. Satin pillowcase or bonnet — every night. Cotton absorbs moisture from the hair and creates friction that frizzes and damages the extensions faster.
• Wash every 2–3 weeks with diluted shampoo applied directly to the scalp using an applicator bottle. Rinse thoroughly and let air dry completely before covering.
• Don't leave them in longer than 8–10 weeks. Extensions left in too long create tension as they grow out and can cause matting that leads to breakage on takedown.
• Moisturize your edges. Keep the hairline area lightly moisturized — knotless braids are easier on edges than traditional braids, but edges still need attention.
